On July 1st, 2015 we saw The Rolling Stones! This was Kris's first time and my second time and without a doubt, they earn the title of the worlds' greatest rock n roll band! In typical "Junkie" fashion, we arrived early and entered the venue early. It was hard for us to contain our excitement once we found our seats on the floor. Even though we were not in our usual front row spots. we were happy to be on the floor about 20 rows back, plus we had a great view of the catwalk down the center. Besides, there were at least 35,000 fans behind us, so we were sitting pretty! For those who think they should retire and hang it up, we say we'd love to see YOU put out a musical career that spans over 50 years. 29 studio albums, 109 singles, plus countless compilation and live albums. Their stage presence rivals any young band today! Mick was full of energy for the entire 2 hour set, running back and forth across the main stage, and strutting up and down the 100 foot catwalk. Keith delivered his guitar parts with all of the swagger we've been accustomed to since they first appeared on the scene. Charlie was the same old Charlie, straightforward tempo, even keel beats, perfect timing and Ronnie provided the rhythm that kept us on up on our feet and dancing! One of the highlights of the show was when the primitive samba sounds of "Sympathy For The Devil" began to play. Amidst fiery flames broadcasting on the big screens, Jagger emerges wearing a red feathered cape, no doubt a nod to a glamorized Lucifer, the song's infamous subject matter. As would be expected, the night was filled with Stones classics with a couple of new songs sprinkled in. Another observation by us... they looked like they were having a blast on stage, enjoying every minute and not just a band going through the motions to collect a big payday at the end. For our money, the night was worth every penny!
